CREATIVE ARTS MINISTRY SCHOOL
Equipping Spiritual Leaders in the Arts

the next school starts OCTOBER 2, 2012.

2012 Course Dates: October 2, 2012 until March 5, 2013 with a 2-week break for Christmas.
The first 6 pages of the application must be in our office no later than September 15, 2012.

Goal
To produce artists and art ministers with a God-centric view of artistic community, training disciples in the creative arts and producing artistically and spiritually mature leaders who will disciple other artists motivated by the love of Christ.

Course Overview
CAMS is a 5-month arts ministry school for amateur artists, professional artists, and non-artists (pre-artists) regardless of prior experience in the arts. This course prepares the student for his or her calling as an artist and/or as a minister to artists. Students will choose one area of fine arts study while partnering with the VineArts leaders to serve a local non-denominational congregation, collaborating with artists and the Holy Spirit through worship, prayer, discipleship, Bible study, creativity, servanthood, and community outreach. The course culminates with a very supportive exhibit and/or performance of the student’s strongest work. Our sincere goal is to nurture and grow artists through healing, encouragement, and mutual support. Students gain long-lasting relationships with other artists, and upon completion will have developed a portfolio, resume, and a Creative Arts Ministry Certification from Vineyard College of Mission.

Requirements
Candidates must be a disciple of Jesus Christ, must be willing to serve in a variety of ministry formats, and must genuinely care about the spiritual and emotional well-being of artists. The student is responsible for studying a variety of art texts and mediums with a teachable spirit and good attitude. Some experience in the arts is helpful but not required.

Outreach
To end the course, students will be guided to create their own art outreach according to their skills, interests, and felt needs of the community. Students can choose to collaborate with their classmates in a local outreach, or create a small-scale individual endeavor, or may even join the SOBA class on their 3-week missions trip to a developing nation overseas (the art student must provide an additional $2500 for the trip if they choose the overseas missions option).

Format
Classes are taught in the VineArts Studio every Tuesday and Thursday evening (approximately 40 sessions) from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, with an additional 4 hours per week of assignments in reading, journaling, ministering, or creating. Occasionally students will have opportunities to meet on Saturdays or Sundays; participation on weekends is optional.
